What they say

Producer B. Bharathi Reddy: Our production company is one of the oldest in South India and we have some of the best films in Tamil and Telugu to our credit. When we decided to produce a new film we told director Siva that there must be nothing negative or experimental about it. We wanted it to be a family entertainer. Ajith Kumar too was particular about this and stood by us, and I am happy that we got a ‘U’ certificate from the Censor Board. People will enjoy the film as we had intended them to.

Director Siva: I am a cinematographer and worked as an associate to Jayanan Vincent. After working as a cinematographer on 14 films, I made my directorial foray. I have now finished five films — three in Telugu and one in Tamil, and the fifth is Veeram . Ajith Kumar plays a son-of-the-soil character — his performance is sure to be enjoyed by all.

Hero Ajith Kumar : I have only one thought when accepting a film. It should appeal to the audience and bring in money for the producers who invest in it. I am sure that this movie will delight audiences.

Music director Devi Sri Prasad: I am glad to see the response from different quarters to my album. Each and every song has been composed keeping in mind Ajith’s fans. Besides, the songs suit the situations that have been so beautifully created by director Siva. This is the first movie for which I am doing the music for both director Siva and Ajith Kumar. Both of them gave me a lot of freedom to work.

Music highlights

The best of the five songs in the album is ‘Nalavannu Solvanga’, sung by the music director himself. ‘Ival Dhaana’, sung by Sagar and Shreya Ghoshal, is a beautiful melody, so is ‘Thangamae’ rendered by Adnan Sami and Priyadarshini. ‘Jing Chakaan’, sung by Pushpavanam Kuppusamy and Magizhini Manimaran, is a rocking number, while ‘Ratha Gaja’ could be considered the theme song, as it just has voices singing in chorus.
