What they say…

Producer, director and hero K.T. Murugan: I belong to the fishing community. Keen on showing our community in the right perspective, I requested various producers to make a film on the fisher folk but in vain. Hence I decided to go ahead with the project myself, notwithstanding my lack of experience in this field. I can’t thank my cast and crew enough for their co-operation.

Music director Anbarasu: I am a keyboard player and have completed the fifth grade from Trinity College of Music. I first scored the music for a short film, titled Othaiyadi, and later for a full-length feature En Manathai Kollai Adithal, which is yet to be released. As the story of Vangakkarai is based on fishermen and their lives, I have used sounds, which are part of the daily life of the community. All those who have seen the rushes have appreciated my work.
