What it is about…
P. Ravi Rajesh plays the lead in Valiyudan Oru Kadhal directed by C.M. Sanjeevan. The music is scored by J. K. Selvaah. S. Selvakumar is the cameraman and Saravanavel is the editor. Gowri Nambiyar plays the heroine. Valiyudan Oru Kadhal is a love story set in a village. The audio of the film was released by Giridharilal L Nagpal, president, Film and Television Producers Guild of South India, and received by the film unit.
Music highlights: The album has seven songs of which the best is ‘Pogathe En Nizhale’ sung by Harish Ragavendra and written by Uma Subramanian. There is a female version of the song by Hemambika. The same lyricist’s ‘Uiyirai Ennul Irunthaai’ sung by Mukesh is remarkable. Selva has written ‘Uyire Urangathe Urangathe’ which is sung well by Haricharan. ‘Thendralaai Veesum Kangal’ is a melodious song sung by Srinivas and Surmuki and written by Neelamegam. ‘Ayiram Aasaigal’ sung by Shankar and written by Muthu Vijayan and ‘Valiyaai Uir Valiyaai’ sung by Mukesh and written by the director are the other numbers in the album.
What they say…
Producer-hero P. Ravi Rajesh: It was my brother who wanted to enter the film industry. I was running a travel agency in the Gulf and I came to Chennai because of my brother. His friend who has directed this film, Sanjeevan, told us a story that we both liked. He suggested that I play the hero for which he wanted me to grow a beard and moustache. I did what he said. I am now waiting for the audience response.
Director C.M. Sanjeevan: These days, many short films are being made into full-length features. Valiyudan Oru Kadhal is also based on a short film, Thalaikavasam, which I did a couple of years ago. My next is Nizhal Thodarum .
Music director J.K. Selvaah: I initially scored music for films, TV serials and documentaries under the name Janakiraj. I am at present working on Kizhakku Sevakkaiyile,Cycle Company, Chennai Gramam, Chepaukam Nama Kathai and Kalla Chirippazhagi . I am receiving positive feedback on the songs in Valiyudan Oru Kadhal and feel people would also love my re-recording.
