What they say

Producer K. Pazhaniammal: Director Arjunaraja (my husband) and I started a production company to make a film. The story and screenplay of Thiru Pugazh is sure to be well-received by audiences. The film is ready to be released soon.

Director Arjunaraja: I have earlier done three films — Alaiyadikkuthu, Maiyam Kondain and Kovalanin Kadhali.Thiru Pugazh is my fourth film. The story is about how love could ruin a girl’s life. I have shot the film in various parts of Tamil Nadu – Chennai, Dindigal and Kodaikanal, and some of it in Puducherry.

Hero Dileep Kumar: I was a child artist and have worked in 40 films in Tamil and Telugu. When I was older, I played the role of villain in Jeyam . It was followed by three films in Telugu as hero and one in Malayalam. My first film as hero in Tamil was director Arjunaraja’s Maiyam Kondaen . I think Thiru Pugazh will be released before Maiyam Kondaen so perhaps it could be termed my debut film in Tamil where I play the hero. My role in the film has slight negative shades to it.

Music director A. K. Ramji: I was working as an assistant director to music director Bharani. It was Bharani who scored the music for director Arujunaraja’s first film Alaiadikkuthu . We became good friends and he gave me my first break as a music director. That’s how Thiru Pugazh came my way. The director has created some good situations for my songs and I am happy I have been able to do justice with the re-recording too.
