What they say…
Producer Thrilok Surendran Pillai Pandalam: I am an NRI businessman and have earlier made Sahasram, a film in Malayalam starring Suresh Gopi. This is my first film in Tamil. When I heard the story I was very much impressed and wanted to produce it.
Director Thamara Kannan: I have experience working in various visual media and have assisted film directors such as I.V. Sasi, Sajan, Mohan Kupleri and A.M. Nazeer on Malayalam and Tamil teleserials. Sooraiyadal is a different film.
Hero Sribalaji: I am an automobile engineer and have acted in Adukalam and Engaeyum Eppothum . Sooraiyadal is my first movie as hero. It has all the right ingredients to succeed at the box office.
Music director Mithun Eshwar: I have completed my piano and violin courses from Trinity College of Music, London. I composed music for Malayalam films, Oru Nunakkadha and Black Coffee . Now I am doing two Tamil films, one Hindi and one Telugu. When Sooraiyadal came my way, I just accepted it as I felt it had the potential to showcase my musical prowess.
Music Highlights: The six-track album opens with ‘Adiye’, a rather sombre number written by Mohan Rajan and rendered soulfully by Sooraj Santhosh. ‘Salapula Salapula’ by the same lyricist follows in the composer’s haunting voice. The same song comes as a remix in the end. Naga Maneci has written the other three numbers. “Oru Minnal” is a beautiful rendition by Latha Krishna. There is another version of ‘Oru Minnal’ sung by the composer. Characterised by fast beats and a mix of Indian musical instruments such as the tabla and udukkai, the track is interesting. ‘Anbodu Mudivathamma’ is a delightful duet by Deepak and Anu Lekshmi.
