Pandiya Nadu

What it is about…

Vishal Film Factory’s Pandiya Nadu is actor Vishal’s first film as a producer. The cast comprises Vishal, Lakshmi Menon, Bharathiraja, Vikranth, Suri, Adhalal Kadhal Seiveer Thulasi, Tarun Master and Jayabalan. The audio of the film was released by G.K. Reddy (actor Vishal’s father), J. David (music director D. Imman’s father) and Nalluchamy (director Suseenthiran’s father). Revenge is the theme of Pandiya Nadu .

Music Highlights

There are seven tracks in the album, two of which are karaoke versions of the first two songs. Vairamuthu has penned all the songs except ‘Fy Fy Fy Kalaachify’ written by his son Madan Karky. Sung by actor Ramya Nambeesan, this number can be called a winner. ‘Yaeley Yaeley Maruthu’ sung by Suraj Santhosh is a folk number with a Latin feel. ‘Veri Konda Puli’ sung by Anand Aravindakshan and Nivas is attractive. ‘Othakada Othakada Machan’ is well rendered by Hariharasudan and Suraj Santhosh. ‘Daiyare Daiyare,’ sung by Pavan, Natraj, Anthonidasan and Pazhaniammal, will make listeners reach for the replay button.

What they say…

Producer and hero Vishal: When director Suseenthiran told me the story, I wanted to produce the film myself. The story is set in Madurai. I play a mobile shop owner Sivakumar, and Lakshmi, a teacher called Malar. Both our roles are clearly etched. I feel the script, the music and the camera angles are sure to take the film to a different level.

Director Suseenthiran:Pandiya Nadu is an absorbing revenge story. This is my sixth film and I am sure it will satisfy the connoisseurs of Tamil cinema. With some charged up performances, Bharathiraja plays Vishal’s father, it will be a real treat for filmgoers.

Music director D. Imman: Director Suseenthiran always comes up with engaging films and I am happy to have scored the music for his Pandiya Nadu . I make it a point to introduce at least one new singer in a film. This film will see three new singers — Pavan, Natraj and Ramya Nambeesan, who is an actor too. I liked Ramya’s voice in a Malayalam song so I gave her a number in this film which she has rendered beautifully.
