What they say…
Producers RR and S. A. Jawahar Basha: When we heard the story from Keerthi Kumar, we were convinced that the film would be a hit.
Director Keerthi Kumar: I passed out of the Viscom Department, Loyola College. I have done 15 short and advertisement films. When I got the opportunity to direct a feature film, I wanted the storyline to have love, sentiment and other ingredients that would make a wholesome entertainer. I didn’t have to look too far for a story idea. I loved a beautiful girl, who has now become my wife. With a little bit of imagination, it could be turned into an interesting script. That’s how Oru Mothal Oru Kadhal came to be.
Hero V. Vivek: This is my first lead role and I am thankful to the director and the producer for it. Director Keerthi Kumar was my senior at Loyola. I had earlier acted in Sooriyanagaram and Mathappu . I am also trained at Koothu-p-Pattarai.
Music director K.R. Kawin: I am the son of veteran lyricist Piraisoodan. I learnt western classical (guitar) and Hindustani music. Ammapettai Krishnamurthy taught me Carnatic music. I have scored the music for 40 short films. I hope people enjoy listening to the songs of Oru Mothal Oru Kadhal as much as I enjoyed composing them. I liked the subject, it’s an entertaining film.
Music Highlights: The album has seven songs of which five are penned by Piraisoodan. ‘Punjabiye Partha,’ sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Sunidhi Chauhan, is the best. It is written by Piraisoodan along with Aditi K.K. There is a beautiful club mix version of the song at the end of the album. ‘Kalangathe Nanba’ is sung by Velmurugan with passion. ‘Appana’ follows in the voices of Tipu and Chinna Ponnu. ‘Crystal Vennilla,’ written by Pa. Vijay is a mesmerising number by Vijay Prakash with rap portions by Sharky. ‘Kadhal Devathai’ is a soulful song written and sung by the music director himself. The OMOK theme figures last on the album.
