What they say…

Producer and hero Vishal: When director Thiru bounced this idea, I found it to be unique. Woven around a person with narcolepsy, a neurological sleep disorder, it appealed to me greatly. As this idea has not been handled in films produced in India so far, I did not have a reference point to model my character on. Hence we had to do a lot of research, read books, watch videos, etc. Besides, handling production and acting at the same time is tough. But I have learnt to strike a balance. Finally, when I watched the movie at the dubbing stage, I hugged the director, impressed with his absorbing narrative.

Director Thiru: This is the third time I am collaborating with Vishal after Theeratha Vilaiyattu Pillai and Samar. But this movie is a different ballgame altogether. And our rapport has grown stronger with each film.

Music director G.V. Prakash Kumar: As the name of the film is the same as the Rajinikanth-starrer released years ago, some of the us went to the Superstar’s house and showed the trailer and a couple of songs to him. After listening to the songs, he told us that he liked them very much.

Music Highlights: The album has six tracks, including a remix and an instrumental version. Of the remaining four, ‘Idhayam Unnai Theduthey,’ a soft duet by GV and his wife Sainthavi, scores. ‘Yelelo’ is a cheerful song with a folk touch sung by the composer along with Meha. ‘Lovely ladies’ is a party track sung by Gana Bala, Vijay Prakash, Meha and Aryan Dinesh. A mix of different genres, it’s catchy and sure to make listeners reach for the rewind button. There is also a club mix version of the song by DJ Vijay Chawla.
