What it is about…
P.V. Entertainment’s Muyal is written and directed by S.P.S. Guhan. While two newcomers, Yogaan and Dharshana, play the lead, Prabhu Sekizhar, Rajkumar and Saranya Nag appear in supporting roles. With perseverance nothing is impossible — this is the premise around which the film is woven. The film also underlines that it is important not to remain passive in the face of injustice. The first audio CD was released by producer P.L. Thenappan and it was received by R. Padmanabhan, president, Tamil Nadu Video and Photographers Association, and still photographer Yoga.
Music Highlights
There are five songs in the album of which one is a repeat. ‘Mun Paniya Muthal Mazhaiya,’ written by Thamizh Selvan, has been beautifully rendered by Harish Ragavendra. Mukesh has sung the inspiring number, ‘Nee Muyandral Vinnun Ettum Thooram Thane,’ written by the director. M.L.R. Karthikeyan sings ‘Acham Thavir Nenjam Nimir’ with gusto; the song is penned by Selvaraja. ‘Annanmar Samy Kathai Pattu,’ written and sung by Udumalai K. Seetharaman and K. Sivakumar, comes in two versions, one slightly longer.
What they say…
Director S.P.S. Guhan: I finished my studies in Madurai and came to Chennai to achieve something in cinema. I joined a private film institute and did a course in cinematography and direction. After completing the course, I started making advertisement films. My first feature film as a producer was Madurai to Theni Vazhi Andipatti . After that I produced Sanikizhamai Sayangalam 5 Mani for which I was also the cinematographer. I used a Canon HDSLR 5D still camera for shooting the entire film which also entered the Limca Book of Records. This movie gave me a lot of opportunities to interact with photo and videographers across Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Photo and Videographers Association has started a company called P & V Entertainment. Their first movie is Muyal , directed by me. M. R. Saravanakumar is the cinematographer. The film has come out well.
Hero Yogaan: I did not know anything about films. In college, my friends and I did a short film. Director Guhan who saw it called me over for a chat and offered me this role in his film. My joy knew no bounds. Hope the moviegoers like my performance.
Music director JV: I am a guitarist and have worked with different music directors. I have worked with S.P.S. Guhan for his advertisement films. When he started making feature films I became part of his team. This is my third film with him after Madurai to Theni Vazhi Andipatti and Sanikizhamai Sayangalam 5 Mani . These two films got me all the appreciation I needed and now Muyal is sure to take me to the next level.
