What it is about...

Full House Entertainment’s Manathil Maayam Seidhai has been produced by Jaison Pullikottil and Vince Mangadan, and written and directed by Suresh P. Kumar. The lead players are Prince, Sethu, Disha Pandey and Richa Panai. The rest of the cast comprises “Nizhalgal” Ravi, Vikram, Vince, Ravi Shankar and Manobala. The film is a romantic thriller, yet has a thread of vengeance woven into the story. The camera has been handled by Venkat Hanuma, the music scored by Manikanth Kadri and the stunts choreographed by Joshua. The audio CD was released by director Prabhu Solomon and the first copy was received by Priyadarshan.

Music highlights

There are five numbers in the album of which the best is ‘Pesamal Pesum’, written by Yuga Bharathi and sung by Vijay Yesudas and Swetha Mohan. ‘Neethi Oru Naalum’, written by the same lyricist and sung by Palakkad Sriram, is also good. ‘Aha Mazhaiyum Illai’, written by Na. Muthukumar and sung by Haricharan and Namsika Iyer, is rendered excellently. The same number is repeated at a slower pace; and this time it is sung by Nikhil Mathew and Sapthaparan Chakraborthy. Karthik does justice to Na. Muthukumar’s pleasing ‘Venmeenile’.

What they say…

Producers Vince Mangadan and Jaison Pullikottil: We’ve been event managers for the past 19 years. We wanted to back a film that would create social awareness and were happy with the story which director Suresh P. Kumar outlined to us.

Director Suresh P. Kumar: I did a polytechnic course but later worked as an associate under various directors — Kodi Ramakrishna and Siddique Lal (Malayalam). Since I like the Tamil film industry, I wanted to debut here. I am happy to direct a film in both Tamil and Telugu.

Hero Prince: When I was in the third year of my engineering course, I auditioned for director Teja’s film, after which I acted in two more films and have two more Telugu films on hand. When the producer of Manathil Maayam Seidhai offered me the lead role, I was really happy. And when I learnt it is going to be a bilingual film, I was on cloud nine.

Director Suresh P. Kumar has done an excellent job of the film in both the languages. I have now bagged another bilingual (Tamil and Telugu) directed by Suresh Krissna. I’m sure this is going to be a good year for me.

Music director Manikanth Kadri: I am the son of ace saxophonist Kadri Gopalnath. I learnt to sing when I was in school. My first album was ‘Dream Journey’, and my father was part of it too. It became a hit and I went on to do Dream Journey 1, 2 and 3, which were also successful. Then, I scored music for an English film Tantric Journal directed by Srinivasan, an NRI. This encouraged me to do more films — three Malayalam, 14 Kannada, three Telugu and one Tamil film Udayan . In the pipeline are three Kannada and two Telugu films, besides this Tamil film Manathil Maayam Seithai . The audio of Manathil is receiving appreciation from various quarters.
