What it is about

DSK Productions’ Kathiyae Theettathey Puthiyae Theettu tells the story of how a brother avenges the injustice done to his sister. Produced by Kovilambakkam D.Singaram, the film is directed by Sri Krishna, who has written the story, screenplay and the dialogue. The camera is handled by Muresh, while the music is scored by Prem. The cast includes Adavaram, Priya, Manchu, D.Singaram and Florence Pereira. The audio CD was released by Win TV Devanathan and received by the film unit.

Music highlights

The album comprises six songs; the best is ‘Royapuram Pakkathile’, written by S.K.Vijayan, and sung by Rajini and Megabharathi. The other two numbers by the same lyricist are ‘Anbu Ennum Kootukulle’ sung by Lavanya and ‘Nenjukulle’ sung by Rajini. ‘Kathal Nenje Va Va’ sung by Megabharathi and written by Subhash is catchy, while ‘Kalaiyuthe Maname’, sung by Sudhakar, and written by the music director and director of the film is interesting. ‘Purappadu Thozha’ written by Thivya Kavi stands out because of its powerful lyrics and varied instruments. The CD cover does not have the names of the lyricists. One wishes these had not been omitted.

What they say

Producer Kovilambakkam D.Singaram: I am in the real estate business. Director Sri Krishna and I became good friends after our first meeting. When he told me he had a good story, I was eager to produce it. The first copy is ready and I am sure of its success.

Director Sri Krishna: I’ve been in the film industry for around 25 years. I worked as an associate to directors R.Balu and S.P.Jananathan. I also wrote the dialogue for TV serials and for the soon-to-be released film Ninaikatha Neeramillai . I have just completed Kathiyae Theettathey Puthiyae Theettu , which is sure to win hearts with its screenplay and songs. We shot the film in Chennai, Puducherry, Oosure, Ponneri and in producer’s home town Kovilambakkam. It is a film with full of entertainment with a message.

Hero Adavaram: After completing a diploma in electronics and communication; I landed a job with a private firm. As director Sri Krishna is my friend I asked him to for a suitable role. I expected to be offered a good character role but to my surprise I was offered the hero’s role. It is a film that’s packed with sentiment and good songs.

Music director Prem: My father ‘Violin’ Mani worked in M.S.Viswanathan’s troupe; my mother Kumudha is a singer. My grandfather introduced the sitar to film music (for instance, ‘Sonnathu Neethana’ in Nenjil Ore Alaiyam ). I learnt piano and qualified up to the eighth grade, offered by the Trinity College of music. I have done 150 albums, four short films and a documentary movie, which won the Kannada State Award in 1997. I have done two Tamil films Netru Pol Indru Ilai and Thenmozhi Thanjavur and worked for serials such as Kaathu Karuppu on Vijay Television. I feel that this film is sure to be a box office hit.
