What it is about…

Reves Creations’ Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam is produced by K. Chandra Mohan and written and directed by Radhakrishnan Parthepan (R. Parthepan). The movie has new-finds Santhosh, Vijairam, Dinesh, Lallu, Akila, Mahalakshmi and Sakithya, along with veteran Thambi Ramaiah.

The camera is handled by Rajarathnam. Always novel in his approach, actor-director Parthepan made the audio release function of this film also different. The camera with a jimmy jib brought the audio CD which was received by directors Vikraman, K. Bhagyaraj, R.V. Udhayakumar, Keyar and Prakash Raj.

What they say…

Producer K. Chandramohan: This is my first film. When actor-director Parthepan agreed to do a film for me, I was on cloud nine. Considering his talents, I knew it would be a hit and much talked about.

Director R. Parthepan: An experimental movie, Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam has all the ingredients to make it big at the box office. I have come up with a different screenplay, a first-of-its-kind for the celluloid medium. The movie’s tag line itself is intriguing — ‘A film without a story’. Two more songs remain to be shot — one is to be picturised on a popular actress, and the other on a big hero from the industry. Four music directors — Vijay Antony, Sharreth, Alphones Joseph, S.S. Thaman — have composed the songs, while Sathya has scored the background music.

Music Highlights: The album has five songs. Sharreth’s composition ‘Pen Megam Polave,’ written by Na. Muthukumar and sung by G.V. Prakash Kumar and Saindavi, is a delightful melody that’s sure to make the listeners happy. There’s another version of this song at the end of the album with slightly different lyrics rendered by the same singers. The other three numbers are written by Madan Karky. ‘Kathil Kathaiyirukku,’ set to tune by Alphones Joseph and also sung by him along with Rita is lively. ‘A for Azhagirukku’ composed by Vijay Antony and sung by Ramya N.S.K. is mesmerising — a totally repeat-worthy track. ‘Live the moment,’ tuned by S.S. Thaman, is a mass number sung by a host of known names such as Haricharan, Venkat Prabhu, Premji, Nakul, Santhanu, Sujith, Nivas and Santhosh.
