Gajendran, Rajappa and Seetha. M.D. Sukumar is the cameraman; Dhina is the composer; Siva has penned the dialogues; and R. Mohan is the art director. What they say…

Producer and director M. Jayakumar: After training under various directors such as Muktha Srinivasan V.C. Gughanathan, P.N. Menon and Vijay T. Rajendar, I directed Padum Vanam Padi , which was a hit. I have now finished my second film Jamaai, which I have also produced. It is a triangular love story with a lot of twists and turns and is backed by good music.

Hero Naveen: I am actively into modelling and have done many ramp shows. My first movie was Casanova in Malayalam. When producer-director Jayakumar saw me he offered me the hero’s role. I am happy with the way the film has shaped up.

Music director Dhina: I started composing music for various serials and one of them was Chitti. Then feature films came my way. I have scored music for more than 50 films and my song ‘Manmatha Rasa’ from the movie Thiruda Thirudi became a rage. Jamaai is a musical love story and when director Jayakumar came to me I was really happy to work on it. Now that the audio has been released, Iam getting appreciation from different quarters.

Music Highlights: There are nine songs in the album which opens with the deeply devotional ‘Maasil Veenaiyum’, from Thevaram. Beautifully composed in Thodi ragam, Nithyasree Ramanan has rendered it in a rather sombre manner. The late lyricist Vaalee has penned four songs, all of which are pleasant to listen to. ‘Wow! We play 12 string guitar’ is sung by Suchith Suresan, Ranina Reddy, David Sim and Dhina. ‘Sengaal Narai’ is a beautiful rendered by Haricharan and Anitha. ‘Nanba’ sung by Santhosh and Sreesha is an ode to friendship and the number will remain on your favourites list for a long time. ‘Vilai Koduthu’ is sung by Dhina and Sharmila. Three songs are written by Na. Muthukumar. ‘Seena Thevathai’ sung by Sathya Prakash and Nithyasree Ramanan has a catchy rhythm. Dhina and Nithyasree come together to render ‘Kannukkulla’. ‘Vanam En Thandhai’ is a feel-good number sung by Nithyasree. The title track ‘Intha Ulagam,’ written by Dhina and Subbu Muthu and sung along with Kadhar, Shivanya, Dev, S.A. Parandaman, is a fast-paced, fun number.
