What they say

Producer and hero Udhayanidhi Stalin: After my hit film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi , I had been waiting for a good story. Then I got to watch Sundarapandian and liked it. I called the director of the film S.R. Prabhakaran and asked him to do a film for my banner. After a week he came to me with two stories. I liked both and asked him to write the screenplay. I was really happy with the script. That is how Ithu Kathirvelan Kadhal happened.

Director S.R. Prabhakaran: I have worked with various directors such as Saba, A. Venkatesh, J. Ramesh and Sasi Kumar. When Udhayanidhi asked me to write the script, I came up with one that blended different emotions beautifully. This is my second film and so it is for Udhayanidhi. I hope the Udhayanidhi-Santhanam chemistry works in this film too.

Music director Harris Jayaraj: We finished the first four songs in quick sessions but fifth one took some time because we wanted it to be in the ‘Themmangu’ style. I auditioned a number of singers for the song and selected three singers to render ‘Pallakku Devathai’. As I have seen the entire film I am sure of its success as it is well-made and entertaining.

Music Highlights: There are five songs in the album and each one carries the stamp of Harris Jayaraj. ‘Anbe Anbe’ written by Thamarai and sung by Harish Ragavendra and Harini truly strikes the high note. The other four have been penned by Ugabharathi. ‘Maelae Maelae’ by Karthik is a lovely number while ‘Sara Sara Saravedi’ is a pleasing-to-the-ear song by KK, Srilekha Parthasarathy and M.K. Balaji. Aalaap Raju does some excellent singing in ‘Vizhiyae Vizhiyae’. The last song in the album ‘Pallakku Devathaiye’ by Jassie Gift, Velmurugan, and Jayamoorthy is high on folk flavour with good orchestration.
