What it is about…

Ravi Kumar and Pavithra play the lead in Guru Surya Movies’ Enn Nenjai Thottaye , written and directed by R.K. Anbuselvan. Naga and Jeevan Mayil have composed the music; Mithran is the cinematographer; and Ramnath, the editor. The story is about a father who wants his son to become an IAS officer. The son too fulfils his dream. But there is a twist in the tale — due to circumstances, he is forced to send his parents to prison! The film is shot in and around Pollachi, Thanjavur and Tiruvarur. The audio of the film was released by Kalaipuli S. Thanu and received by Chellamuthu, IAS (retd.), and Senthil Kumar, industrialist.

Music highlights: ‘Kudi Kudi’ is a mass number sung by Jeevan Mayil, who has also written and set it to tune. All the other songs are composed by Naga of which three are written by Kalaikumar. They are ‘Sattendru Oru Varthai’ sung by Sujith and Supriya Joshi, ‘Nee Illaiyendral’ sung by Sudeep, and ‘Thanjavuru Bommai’ sung by Sunanthan and Manasi. ‘Thangam Vethavethachi’ written by Madurai Aasai and sung by Kaushik is pleasing.

What they say…

Director R.K. Anbuselvan: I learnt the nuances of filmmaking under Aascar Films Ravichandran. When I decided to strike out on my own, I discussed the project with producer-director Thanu who encouraged me to go ahead. After finishing the movie, I showed it to some of my friends. They liked it. I am now eagerly waiting for the audience’s reaction.

Hero Ravi Kumar: After finishing my graduation, I did a couple of modelling assignments. I have so far acted in 10 short films and 15 telefilms. Anbuselvan found me suitable for the lead after an audition. I saw the film during dubbing and liked it very much.

Music director Naga: I have composed four numbers for this film. I am music director Maragathamani’s brother and have earlier worked on Telugu movies. This is my first in Tamil and I have got two more films in the pipeline — 3K and Enna Satham Intha Neram . Jeevan Mayil, who has worked with music directors Deva and Srikanth Deva, has written and composed one of the songs.
