There are seven tracks in the album, including the theme music, which is instrumental. There are three English numbers — ‘Take it On’ written by Rupesh and sung by Ramya NSK. The same lyricist has come up with ‘You Were So Far’, sung by Abishek. ‘Cricket, it’s my life’ is written by the director of the movie and sung by Abishek, Ankita and Pratap. The other three are Tamil numbers — ‘20-20’, written and sung by Gaana Bala, has a lively beat, while Kirudhaya’s lyrics appeal in ‘Mounapoove’ sung by Sathya Prakash. ‘Kadhal Cricket’, written by Kirudhaya and Pratap, and sung by Abishek, Sharanya and Madhumitha is sure to go down well with listeners.

What they say…

Producer A. Senthil Kumar: I do business in pre-owned cars, and have a showroom in Chennai. I am interested in cricket and films. When Rose Venkatesan narrated the story of the film I liked it. I wanted to back a film that was topical and had a message for the masses.

Director Rose Venkatesan: I enjoy anchoring programmes, in fact, anything connected with the media and therefore was keen on directing a film. I worked under director Vettrimaran. This is the first feature film on this murky area of cricket and I am happy to have made it. It also has some romance thrown in.

Hero Kishan: Being a singer I approached director Rose for a suitable number. I have also acted in four short films. When she heard about this, she asked me to send her a photograph. She called me to tell me that I was the hero of Cricket Scandal . Needless to say, I was on cloud nine.

Music director Deepan: I studied sound engineering at Rahman’s music school. I scored the music for two short films. Rose Venkatesan heard my music and liked it. She described the sequences for which she wanted me to compose the music and was satisfied with my work. I have also finished the re-recording.
