Fans of Kamal Haasan can look forward to twin delights this year. The post-production work of Vishwaroopam 2 is said to be on on a brisk pace. The film is likely to be released this summer. After this comes his Uthama Villain, Ramesh Aravind’s debut directorial venture. The film will have dialogues by ‘Crazy’ Mohan and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
On the spot
Music director S.S. Kumaran is thrilled that his second directorial venture, the bi-lingual Kerala Naattilam Pengaludane (Kerala.com in Malayalam) is ready for release. “Since the film was shot in Red Epic camera, we did spot editing, and did the re-recording after the shoot every night. So, once the shoot was over, we had the complete film in hand. This gave us a tremendous grip on the storyline. This humourous film will be a family entertainer,” said the director.
Turning to production
Actor Arjun’s daughter Aishwarya Arjun made her acting debut with Pattathu Yaanai opposite Vishal. Now, she has joined hands with her sister Anjana to produce Jai Hind 2, featuring and directed by their father. The shooting of the film, sequel to the popular Jai Hind released in 1994, is said to be in its final stages. “The film is a trilingual featuring Surveen Chawla and Simran Kapoor. It is an action movie with liberal doses of love and family sentiment,” says Arjun.
Udhayanidhi Stalin is busy with his latest outing Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal. The film, directed by S.R. Prabhakaran (of Sundarapandian fame), is produced by Red Giant Movies. Says Udhayanidhi, “The film’s audio will be released in a few days, while the film itself will be released next month. Nayantara and Santhanam are part of the cast, and the film’s music is by Harris Jayaraj. My next acting assignment is Nanbenda, directed by Jagadish, an associate of director Rajesh M. The film is a comedy, and it has music by Harris Jayaraj.”
