A still from Thalaiva

A still from Thalaiva

Here’s the latest about Vijay-starrer Thalaiva . It will be the first ‘new’ Tamil film to have Dolby Atmos sound. Over 30 theatres in Tamil Nadu will offer the sound. The film, also starring Amala Paul and Sathyaraj, will be released on August 9. Incidentally, the 3D version of Sivaji The Boss had used Dolby Atmos.

Father and son

After many years, Sathyaraj returns to production. Produced under the banner Nathambal Film Factory, the film Naaigal Jaakirathai will have his son Sibiraj playing an important role. However, a dog trained by the military will be the lead! Apparently, Sibiraj listened to over 200 scripts before finalising this film, said to be his comeback vehicle of sorts. The film will be directed by Shakthi Sounder Rajan of Naanayam fame, and Dharan Kumar is to score the music.

A happy addition

We all know Ajith is a racing fan, who has a fleet of cars and bikes. The actor’s now thrilled to have an addition to his enviable collection — BMW S 1000RR, a sport bike that’s made for world championship. On the film front too, the actor must be delighted with his line-up — he has just completed his 53rd film and gone on to shoot a project with Siruthai Siva.

Tamil calling

Here’s something for Nayanthara fans — the actor who is paired with Udhayanidhi Stalin for his home production has signed for another Tamil film. She will star opposite Jayam Ravi in a movie to be directed by Ravi’s brother Raja. Looks like Nayanthara is all set for another round in Tamil!
