A.R. Rahman has done it again. His teaser of ‘Nenje Yezhu’ for Dhanush-starrer Maryan has garnered over 3.5 lakh hits in just four days. The film’s director Bharatbala says, “It is telling how his work is drawing lakhs of people from around the globe.”

As for Rahman, he says working with his friend Bharatbala has been a really enjoyable experience.

“Working with Bharatbala and his team for advertisements way back in 1989 was a big leap for me. His production, Vande Mataram in 1997 redefined what a private album can do to music listeners around the globe. Now, I’m thrilled to work for his film. People seem to be excited with the trailer. Making music for Maryan was fun,” he says.

Incidentally, Rahman invited Yuvan Shankar Raja to render a song for the film.

What next?

We hear that Kamal Haasan is busy with Vishwaroopam 2, poised for an August release. Apparently, before beginning work for an English language film after Vishwaroopam 2, the actor might quickly complete a Tamil film. Speculations are on that three production houses have been trying to rope him in, and one of them is Thirrupathi Brothers. It’s said Lingusamy would perhaps direct the actor or that Kamal Haasan might direct the film himself. It’s also rumoured that Ramesh Aravind might direct the veteran. So, will it be a comedy or an action drama? Well, we must wait!

Birthday gift?

Last heard, director A.L. Vijay and actor Vijay are on the last leg of the shoot of the film Thalaivaa. While they are feverishly completing the shots with Amala Paul in Australia, the film crew is just as busy with the post-production. All these so the film can be released for the actor’s birthday in June. The mood at the camp is said to be upbeat since the film’s teaser on social networking sites has generated a lot of interest. The film’s audio is likely to release this month-end.

Chill pill

With the mercury rising, actors are taking off to ‘cooler’ pastures. Vijay is in Australia, Jiiva in Switzerland, and Suriya will leave for Europe in a couple of days. Karthi and Vishal too will leave for foreign countries while Vikram is to complete his film with Shankar with a foreign jaunt. While the actresses are all said to be working round-the-clock in different places across the country, one person who is looking to go abroad is Nayantara. Talk of a summer break!
