Actor Krithi Shetty

Actor Krithi Shetty

She made her debut in Tamil films with Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai as Advaitha and continues to be known by this screen name right up to the under-production Snehavin Kadhalargal . But Advaitha has decided to revert to her own name Krithi Shetty for all future film assignments. “While Sevili is getting ready for release, Maanga with Premgi Amaren is also under production. Though Advaitha was a lucky name according to numerology, I found many were unable to pronounce it properly. So, I have decided to revert to my original name Krithi Shetty,” says the actress who is paired with Uday in Snehavin Kadhalargal . “The heroine’s journey through life and the four men who enter it at different stages forms the story. Finally, I get hooked up with Uday,” says Krithi.

Another Kajal-Vijay starrer

Her last outing with Vijay was in 2012 in Thuppakki, said to be a high grosser that year. That sort of established Kajal Aggarwal and Vijay as a winning combination, resulting in this year's film-in-the-making Jilla , directed by R. T. Nesan for producer R. B. Chowdhry's Super Good Films. For Kajal, with established footprints in Tollywood, Bollywood and Kollywood, Jilla is an important film for, besides Vijay Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is part of the star cast. “In Jilla, I play a modern young girl from Madurai, someone who is confident and with a mind of her own. The hero, despite his modern outlook, does not always agree with my views and actions, but in the end we fall in love. It is a really feel-good film, entertaining for all audiences. I have signed on two more films — one with Udayanidhi and another with Dhanush. Work will start on these only after my sister’s wedding in Mumbai,” says Kajal, whose actor-sister Nisha Aggarwal is getting married at the end of this month.

Audio launch of Veeram on December 20

The buzz is that the producers of the Ajith Kumar starrer Veeram are going ahead with a soft launch of the songs from the film on December 20. Apparently, the confidence level of the production team is quite high so as not to warrant a grand audio release function. Unlike his earlier films — Billa 2, Mankatha and Arrambam — Ajith will be seen in a rustic role in director Siva’s movie. Consequently, the songs will also have a different flavour. Music director Devi Sri Prasad is upbeat about the songs he has composed for Ajith and Tamannaah. The powerful lyrics of Viveka add value to the score. “This is the first time I am composing music for director Siva and Ajith Kumar and when I presented the first track, they were surprised and excited. That’s because the music was western with a lot of fusion sounds. Combined with Viveka’s lyrics, it gave the rural story a totally different feel. Further, I have used Adnan Sami’s voice for the first time for Ajith which complements the actor. Most of the five songs have a fusion feel and together with Siva’s picturisation, enhances the overall appeal,” says Devi Sri.
