Actor Vijayakanth’s younger son is all set to enter tinseltown. Shanmuga Pandian, a Visual Communication student of Loyola College, will make his debut with Sagaaptham . Says Vijayakanth, “He was always interested in films. So, I wanted him to learn the basics of acting, stunts and dancing. When I felt he was ready to face the camera, I decided to start production; Captain Cine Creations is producing the film. It will be ready for release next year.” The film’s directed by Santosh Kumar Rajan.

Incidentally, Vijayakanth’s elder son Prabhakaran too was a Loyola student, who did Business Management.

Behind the camera

Actor Shankar of Oru Thalai Raagam -fame returns to Tamil films as a director with Manal Nagaram . “The film is about the plight of those who work in the Middle East; it’s a story of love and suffering. Since the film is set in Dubai, the film’s shot there. Around 50 days of shoot is over; 10 days of shoot in Chennai remain, and then it’s on to post-production. I play an important role in the film. I will act in Tamil films if I get interesting roles,” says Shankar who earlier directed the Malayalam films Virus and Keralotsavam .

The cast includes Prajin, Goutham Krishna, Tejaswini and new face Varuna Shetty.

We all know that Mohanlal plays an important role in actor Vijay’s upcoming Jilla . The latest is that the Malayalam actor has bagged the film’s distribution rights in Kerala. Apparently, the actor is sure of the film’s success since Vijay has a huge fan following in Kerala, and it features Mohanlal himself. The final stages of shoot is said to be on in the city. The film has Kajal Aggarwal paired with Vijay. It’s directed by Nesan and the music is scored by D. Imman.
