Melody rules!

Looks like we are inching back to the days when films brimmed with songs. Music director V. Thashi says, “When producers approach me, they request for a lot of songs. For the film Thirugnanasambandar , I have composed 14 songs; 11 for En Per Kumarasamy ; 10 for Kaanum Kanavugal ; and seven each for Aruvikkarai Oram and Odum Megangale . And melody rules, since it lingers in listeners’ minds for long.” Incidentally, Thashi has composed music for over 60 films and re-recorded for over 170 films across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya, Bengali, Assam and Bojpuri, and for the English film Under The Sky .
