Concept : She thinks life is meaningless unless one does something useful for society. In her pursuit of this goal, she faces hurdles and also meets a young man who shares similar ideals. But where does their journey lead them?

Director’s take : The girl lost her parents when she was a child and was brought up by her relatives. She inherits wealth and instead of leading a colourful life like other young women of her age, she decides to follow in the footsteps of her idol Mother Teresa by starting an ashram for the downtrodden.

It is here her guardian, a maternal uncle of hers, creates trouble for her. In order to save herself from a dangerous situation, she runs away from home and meets a young man born and brought up in an orphanage. He vows to support her in her endeavour and they start their journey together from then on. Love blossoms between them but troubles too follow. How she achieves her goal and how he wins over her love form an interesting part of this offbeat love story.

Varun Sandesh plays the young man and Barbie Handa the rich girl who wants to serve society. Popular Kannada actor Mahesh Gandhi makes his debut in Telugu. He is cast as the heroine’s uncle, the villain in the story.

After a five-years hiatus, after making his first celluloid statement, Ghana starring Brahmaji, Nagababu and Suhasini, Raviraj returns to filmmaking. “It is an award-worthy story with a strong message to the society. It took five years for me to write it and I chose the serene Tirumala and Srisailam as locations to write the story. In fact, I was toying with the idea of producing it myself with newcomers in the lead, but my friends Ajay Surya (of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Movies) and Manikumar (Benchmark Movies) heard the story in one of their visits to Tirumala where I was staying and came forward to make it into a movie. They suggested Varun Sandesh for the male lead. His father who takes care of his assignments liked the story along with Varun and he immediately agreed to do the role. Like her famous cousin, Priyanka Chopra, Barbie Handa too is a talented actress. Incidentally, it is our music director Chakri’s 100th film. He worked on the tunes with music sittings at Araku Valley. The six songs are situational and take the story forward. Since the subject is universal, we are making the movie simultaneously in three languages — Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.”

Progress : The 30-day long third schedule commences on November 25 at Ramoji Film City. Earlier the movie was shot at Bangalore and Vizag. A Chennai schedule is also planned. The audio is expected to be released during Sankranthi, 2014, and the movie on February 14.
