Niranjana was introduced in Yasakhan opposite ( Angaditheru ) Mahesh by director Duraivanan. Following this, she is acting in Soan Papdi directed by Shivani. Shree ( Vazhakku En 18/9 ) plays the hero. “While Yasakhan was a Madurai-based story, Soan Papdi is a city subject. Both of us are professionals in the field of engineering. The movie has an equal dose of thrill, humour and romance. Besides acting, I am doing a number of modelling assignments. And, discussions are on for a few Malayalam and Tamil movies,” says Niranjana from London where she went to spend her Onam holidays.

Special screening of a short

Meera and Venkat are a newly married couple working in Bangalore, and just like any other couple have differences of opinion that lead to conflicts and misunderstandings. When they are forced to go on a tour together, they experience a life-changing incident. This is the plot of Mr. & Mrs. Venkat , a short film directed by Hari. “After the success of my previous short film, Mission Thiruvanmiyur , our team, Monsoon Studios, is all set to release Mr. & Mrs. Venkat ,” says Hari who has also written the story and screenplay. The 15-minute romance is being officially launched with special screenings at AVM Preview Theatre today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. “Those who are keen on watching this film, as well as encouraging short filmmakers like me can come to the theatre,” says Hari who is currently working as an Assistant Director on an upcoming feature film.

A dream come true

From days of yore, many a talent has emerged out of Coimbatore, once a major centre for film production. The most recent one to do so is Suhasini, with her debut role as the second heroine in director Vinubarathi’s Moch . “Ever since I completed my graduation, I have been trying for a good role. Despite being the only child, my mother has encouraged me to pursue my dream to act in films. In Moch , I play a typical family girl, Chinthamani, mother of an eight-month-old baby,” says Suhasini. Earlier, she has acted in two short films directed by Martin for the Nalaya Iyakkunar series on TV.
