Ini Varum Naatkal

Ini Varum Naatkal

Director Thulasidaas’ last Tamil film was Veetai Paar Naatai Paar in 1994, but he has to his credit several Malayalam films. The director is now busy completing his second Tamil film, Ini Varum Naatkal, which is also made in Malayalam as Girls . “This is an all-woman subject. With no single male actor in the film, the screenplay can be called the hero. Ini Varum Naatkal is a suspense thriller laced with humour. The story revolves around seven women. The cast includes Nadiya, Iniya, Reshma, Aarti and Archana,” says Thulasidaas.

From God’s Own Country

The latest import from Kerala to Kollywood is model and classical dancer Sruthy Bala who plays the heroine in A. Venkatesh’s directorial, Romba Nallavan Da Nee. “When he narrated the script to me, I found it so hilarious that I readily agreed to do it. Cast opposite me are ‘Mirchi’ Senthil and ‘Robo’ Shankar. I play a bold working girl in an IT company in the city. Romba Nallavan Da Nee is a romantic comedy and gives me a lot of scope to explore my acting abilities,” says Sruthy.

The last in the trilogy

Director Pandiraj’s next venture, Haiku, has several kids playing the lead roles. Known for making films based on children, like Pasanga and Marina , Pandiraj says, “ Haiku will complete my trilogy of films revolving around children. Haiku features Bindu Madhavi in an important role, while Suriya and Amala Paul appear as guest stars. Like my earlier films, Haiku is about the world of children and will be a beautiful experience for viewers.” Incidentally, the film is being produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment.

Shaam’s 25 film

He made his debut with 12 B and now, after 13 years and films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, actor Shaam is getting ready for the release of his 25th film, Porambokku . “I entered the industry as a youngster. I have learnt a lot through cinema. I consider Jeeva’s (director of 12B ) acquaintance as the most valuable. Similarly, S.P. Jananathan’s Iyarkai is an important movie in my career, as it is a National Award-winning film. Jananathan is directing my 25th film which is really a matter of great happiness and pride,” says Shaam.
