Sethu ( Mynaa ) is said to have delivered a powerful performance in Manathil Mayam Seithai (MMS), according to its director Suresh. A crime thriller, MMS has Prince in a crucial role alongside Sethu and keeping them company are Disha Pandey and Richa Panna.

“In Mynaa, I played a rough and tough guy for which I had to gain a lot of weight. Whereas in MMS , my character evolves from being a lover boy to a responsible family man who fights for love. The movie is based on how technology, especially texting, affects our day-to-day life,” says Sethu. Saxophonist Kadri Gopalnath’s son, Manikanth Kadri has composed the music for this film.

Take two

Director A. L. Vijay is really thinking big. His upcoming film Saivam is being produced under his own banner Think Big Studios. An understanding producer is sometimes difficult to come by. Probably Vijay feels that combining the two functions will give him the creative freedom he needs for Saivam which is at present being shot in Karaikal.

Touching tale

Director R. K. Anbu Selvan’s Enn Nenjai Thottaye, featuring newcomers, is based on the premise that parents sacrifice everything for the sake of their kids. “Ravikumar plays the hero who eventually becomes an IAS officer, thanks to the hardships his parents have undergone to get him educated. Not one to forget their sacrifices, he takes good care of them. He’s equally aware of his social responsibilities. But, circumstances — the death of his wife for which he holds his parents responsible — force him to send them to prison,” says Anbu Selvan who plays the father alongside Ramba as his wife. Paired with Ravikumar is Pavithra (Miss Bangalore) in her debut role.
