Her Damaal Dumeel has just released and Ramya Nambeesan is happy that the audience response to it has been positive. Meanwhile, for her forthcoming Naalu Policeum Nalla Iruntha Oorum with Arulnidhi, Ramya has one more song to complete. “After this, I am taking a short break from shooting as I am travelling to the U.S. with K. J. Yesudas, Vijay Yesudas and Shweta for a series of concerts. I will be singing and dancing at these shows. On my return, I will finalise my next film project for which I have started reading a few scripts,” informs Ramya.

A role with a difference

Kangaroo is her seventh film after Panivizhum Malarvanam . Varsha Ashwathi plays a village girl in it. “ Kangaroo is a typical village-based subject and a family drama directed by Samy. I play a strong character which is crucial to the plot. It is completely different from the roles I have done in my earlier films such as Peranmai and Neer Paravai . Alongside this film, there is another project which is getting ready; in Athithi , I am part of the cast led by Nandaa and Ananya,” says Varsha.

Brotherly love

Arya’s decision to launch his own production company, The Show People, to give a fresh impetus to his brother Sathya’s career is something the whole industry is appreciative of. The actor says, “ Amara Kaavyam is being directed by Jeeva Sankar who earlier made Naan with me as the hero. In my opinion, it was the intriguing screenplay of Naan that caught audience attention. In fact, it was Jeeva who first encouraged my brother to take up acting in Kadhal 2 Kalyanam . When Jeeva gave me the script of Amara Kaavyam , I thought it would help Sathya find a footing in the industry.” Jeeva’s experience in cranking the camera for some of his earlier films, has given him a two-pronged view of how to make a good film, feels Arya.
