Director A. Govindamurthy believes that education and love play an important role in shaping the destiny of people. This is what he seeks to portray in his upcoming film Pappali for which he has written the story, screenplay and dialogue. “Will the hero emerge a winner or continue to wallow in his ‘zero’ status? Does he utilise the several opportunities that come his way to come up in life?” asks Govindamurthy. Pappali features Senthil of the TV serial Saravanan Meenakshi fame and Ishara in the main roles.

All for peace

According to director Ajay Nuthakki, liberal doses of romance, emotion, humour and action ensure a movie’s success. He has incorporated these elements into the screenplay of Ravana Desam which stars him as the hero alongside Jennifer. “The goal of both sides in a fight is the same – to win! Ravana Desam ’s central theme is about a group of people who escape such a conflict and take to the high seas in a boat,” says the director. Ajay has drawn inspiration from Life of Pi in depicting the rigours of the boat full of people sailing from one coast to another in search of freedom, peace and happiness. Following the recent launch of the film’s audio, Ajay looks forward to the film’s release after Deepavali.

Humour and suspense

Popular feature film director M. Raja turns into an actor with director Guru Ramesh’s debut movie Enna Saththam Indha Neram . In a first of sorts, Guru has cast eight-year-old look-alike quadruplets Adhiti, Aakrithi, Akshathy and Aapthi in important roles. Maanu, a heroine of Ajith’s earlier film, Kaadhal Mannan , returns to the screen after a gap of 15 years. “Nitin Sathya plays a zoo keeper, while Raja, the father of the quadruplets. Maanu plays the mother, while Malavika Wales is the other heroine. The film is a humour-based thriller with suspense thrown in. Almost 90 per cent of filming is over and we plan to finish the rest in the forthcoming schedule. We’re looking at a Pongal release,” says Guru.
