Concept: Whenever something goes wrong, we rue that the society is responsible for it, without looking inward. Focused on this point, the movie depicts today’s life as we experience it, with stark reality. Interestingly, the story has no conventional villain!

Director’s take : “If one can correct himself, then it is like correcting the entire nation” is the essence of the story. The general practice among us is that we always say that the society should change. What is society? It is nothing but a large group of people. So first and foremost we should change. It automatically brings in a change in the society.

Samuthirakani has a penchant for making strong message-oriented entertainers that offer an art house movie experience within the commercial framework. His earlier movies in Telugu – Naalo and Sambho Siva Sambho are examples for his craftsmanship. Being an actor and a writer, he extracts the best from his actors.

“Nani plays a dual role as the software professional Aravind Shankar and Reddy, the out and out mass character. Heroine Amala Paul too is cast as a software engineer. Siva Balaji, as a television anchor and Sarathkumar as a CBI officer, play crucial roles,” adds K. Kiran Kumar, the co-director. While two action blocks composed by stunt director Siva and shot in Coimbatore and on the Bangalore Highway thrills the audience, he says and the songs filmed at Karaikudi, Goa, Kerala, Chennai and Hyderabad (lyrics: Rama Jogaiah Sastry, Sahiti and Ananth Sriram) allure. “Three thousand strong crowds were part of the climax action scene that was shot in Coimbatore,” he said. Sukumar cranked the camera. ‘Ahuti’ Prasad, Thanikella Bharani, ‘Vennela’ Kishore and Dhanraj are in the cast.

Progress: Produced by K.S. Srinivasan and K.N. Sivaram, the movie is presently in its post-production stage with the dubbing work being held at Super Good Films post production studio in Film Nagar, Hyderabad. Jendapai Kapiraju is slated for release in January 2014.
