Concept: The family drama is loaded with action and entertainment, involving a wealthy man and his subordinate. The film is helmed by Sameer an erstwhile associate of Ram Gopal Varma.
Director’s take: “Arjun plays the business tycoon and JD Chakravarthy holds an important portfolio in his business empire. What happens when both of them fall in love with the same woman (played by Minnissha Lamba of ‘Kidnap’ and ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ fame) is the central plot. An entertaining family theme with rich production values, I promise the viewers that it is one of its kind and a paisa vasool film. It is to recall that our early talkies were made in Kolhapur and now we went back to the once Mecca of Indian cinema to shoot a major portion of our movie. Sanjay Godavath who is the presenter of the movie has allowed for the first time, to shoot in his palatial bungalow which interestingly has only the ground floor. What surprised us was not only the climate in that estate which remains the same throughout the year but also the frequent rains that occur. We were told that for every one hour there will be a ‘rain’ fall for ten minutes, that’s how the 40 acre area has been designed. Besides giving us the picturesque location, Sanjay Godavathji has also put at our disposal his fleet of cars which include a Ferrari, Rolls Royce and Hummer, apart from two helicopters. In the story, Arjun is shown as one of India’s top ten businessmen. So, naturally, we have to go for the grandeur.” On who gives the contract to whom and what’s the contract about, he keeps under wraps smiles and says, “There is an element of suspense too in the story.”
Basically, a writer, Sameer worked as a co-director with Ram Gopal Varma Productions for almost a decade and during this phase he also worked for most of the films directed by JD Chakravarthy. “When I wrote the story, I had Arjun in mind for the hero’s character and JD for the other main lead with negative shades. K. Viswanath, M.S. Narayana, Ali, Quyyoom, Srinivasa Reddy, Sana, ‘Delhi’ Rajeswari have important roles to play too. One of Hindi cinema’s top lens man Johny Lal is cranking the camera while editing is done by Venkatesh. The thrills are choreographed by fights master Nandu. It is an out and out family entertainer that gives a new movie experience.”
Progress: Produced by Ranjith Gogineni, the movie will go into its third and final schedule from February 1 at Kolhapur. The songs are planned to be filmed at Bangkok and Malaysia. The movie is slated for release in April.
