Actor Abhay Deol has finally plunged into production. Abhay is co-producing One By Two, a romantic comedy to be directed by Devika Bhagat, the writer who gave us the delightfully different Manorama Six Feet Under. He will also act in his film along with his girlfriend Preeti Desai. Abhay’s home banner Forbidden Films has had a somewhat shaky financial start with Junction, Basra and reportedly a third film too being shelved. For this one, he is collaborating with producer Amit Kapoor, whose parents are well-known producers.
It’s the turn of the 1983-film Masoom to go for the remake grind. It only soothes the heart that a sensitive director such as Bedabrata Pain (of National Award-winning film Chittagong) is handling it. Now the interesting bit is that while the director is talking about the possibility of Nawazzudin playing the role essayed by Naseeruddin Shah in the original, reports have surfaced about Abhishek being approached for the role with wife Aishwarya playing Shabana Azmi’s part. Hmm…
Oh, the kind of fans there are... Apparently, at a recent awards show, after actor Anushka Sharma received an award, she was backstage giving some media bytes when she realised that her favourite actor Madhuri Dixit’s performance was up next. The young girl made such a dash for it that she tore her Roberto Cavalli dress! Anushka has often confessed to her ‘craze’ for the dancing diva of the 1990s.
