Enkadhal Pudhidhu

En kadhal pudhidhu

Mareesh Kumar has directed Veera Movies’ En Kadhal Pudhidhu in addition to writing the story, screenplay and dialogues. A story about campus love, the film features Ram Sathya as the hero and Umashree and Nameetha Pramoth as the heroines. The others in the cast are G.M. Kumar, Pandiyarajan, ‘Lollu Sabha’ Jeeva, ‘Alwa’ Vasu, “Boys” Rajan, Balaji and Srilatha. Sathyadev has scored the music. The audio of the film was released by director K. Bhagyaraj and received by director R. Pandiarajan.

Music highlights

The soundtrack consists of five numbers and ‘Chinna Chinna,’ written by Viveka and sung by Prasanna and Suchitra, is easily the best. A beautiful song with a folk touch, it’s interspersed with rap by Krishna Iyer. ‘Kadhal Kamam,’ orchestrated with sublime western chords, sounds contemporary. Sung by Kaushik Shridaran, the lyrics are by Mareesh Kumar. ‘Vizhi Aruge’ is a soft melody that expresses a girl’s love. It is sung by Sowmya Mahadevan and written by Na. Muthukumar. ‘Kanavoduthan’ is a slow, pathos-filled song rendered by S. Premkumar and Shweta and written by the director. ‘Oru Vaarthai,’ sung by Vijay Yesudas and written by Na. Muthukumar, is a lovely melody.

What they say…

Producers T. Vijayakumar and S. Saravanan: I worked with director K. Bhagyaraj and others in the film distribution field. S. Saravanan is my relative. When we screened this film for some of the bigwigs in the industry they liked it and we felt encouraged.

Director Mareesh Kumar: I am a short story writer and I have worked under K. Bhagyaraj and Pandiarajan. After struggling for so many years to become a full-fledged director, I shared the storyline of this film with the producers and they liked it. After finishing the film, I showed it to my mentors, Bhagyaraj and Pandiarajan, who appreciated my work. It has been a morale-booster to me.

Hero Ramsathya: I come from a family of agriculturists based in Kambam. I did not have any experience in acting. When my uncle took me to the director, he selected me for the lead role. We shot in different places such as Kerala, Kovalam, Ponmudi, Ooty and Chennai. I was thrilled to see myself on the screen.

Music director Sathyadev: I am a student of the School of Audio Engineering and have worked with Premkumar as a music programmer. I have composed the music for a film in Kannada. This is my debut in Tamil and I must thank the producer and director for the opportunity. After seeing the film, I am convinced that the songs have come out well.
