Titled ‘Nadippuku Kai Kodutha Deivam,’ another annual tribute to the legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan by Y.Gee.Mahendra, will be held on Oct 2, 6.15pm, at Kamaraj Arangam, Teynampet. The musical evening has been organised to celebrate the thespian’s 83rd birth anniversary. Soulful melodies from the movies of Sivaji Ganesan will be presented by popular light music singers of the stage -- Kovai Murali, Kalpana, Prasanna, Sairam and Anusha. Kalpana is the winner of the 1st prize of Rs.1 crore, at the Asianet Idea Star Singer Season 5, held this week. The special guest singers include Unni Menon, Archith and Janani, with the orchestral support of YGee Melody Makers.
As always the duo of YGM and ARS provide interesting titbits. Memorable scenes from Sivaji’s repertoire will also be screened. The chief guest of the evening is Cheran, and the Sivaji Award of Excellence will be presented to director KSG, ‘Vietnam Veedu’ Sundaram and Kutty Padmini.
