If you thought Bengali bombshell Bipasha Basu has cooled down after the Humshakals fiasco, she hasn’t. She calls it the dark spot amongst many good people in the industry and that dark spot will continue to annoy her. So, what is keeping her mind off that spot weeks later is her new film. “ Creature 3D is keeping me busy, focused and has occupied a chunk of my time and I am enjoying it. The reason it needs more than the usual promotion is because it is a new genre in the industry. I am calling it new because in comparison to Hollywood, where movies like Dinosaur and Species were made years back, we are merely scratching the surface. Creature-3D is not a shoddy outcome; it is a brilliant piece of work put together by everyone from cinematographers, special affect artists, sound engineers and actors,” says Bipasha.

In between post-production activities, Bipasha is taking time off for interviews and thanking the movie and the genre for the patience, focus and imagination it has rewarded her with in return. But isn’t Bipasha always the patient kind who doesn’t react unless there is a pressing need? She laughs, “I am a hyperactive person and very impatient with a slow pace. While the movie wasn’t slow, it required us to act with an imaginary creature throughout and that isn’t easy. Imagine reacting and emoting to something that is non-existent. No prop, nothing. I had to maintain a measured distance so that graphics and special affects works aren’t disturbed. Finally, when I got to see the film, it did impress me,” she says.

Creature 3D is an upcoming 3D monster thriller directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film stars Bipasha Basu and Imran Abbas Naqvi, is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar and co-produced by Ajay Kapoor. The film is Pakistani model turned actor Imran Abbas Naqvi’s Bollywood debut as well. But Bipasha likes to call it a “high energy science fiction film which is completely desi and yet very opulent.”

Isn’t the actor showing an unnatural liking towards the unnatural? “I love it. The horror genre has moved from being a B-grade film to the mainstream. There is a lot to exploit and be creative. Also, I’d rather be in a respectable zone than be seen as a supporting cast in a Rs. 100-crore slapstick comedy. Horror, given in the right dose to the audience, is appreciated and if I am getting to be associated with this genre, it is a nice thing,” she says.

Any plans apart from her fitness and accessory line? “ Alone . Saying this itself brings a smile to my face because it is yet another supernatural horror film, which is a passionate love story and I play conjoined twins,” she reveals.

Any holiday plans? “I really want to go on a holiday to Turkey with my girlfriends. My heart is racing to travel and it is best to enjoy a holiday with gal pals now and then.”
