“Whether democracy exists or not, mediocrity exists,” said cinematographer Arvind Krishna, during our conversation. Arvind was my senior at school. Arvind, my senior at school, also passionately spoke about the various techniques he has introduced in each of his films. He takes himself seriously as a trend-setter. “I was very clear right from my school days that I wanted to make movies,” he said. “Even today, my classmates call me to tell me that I’m the only person from our batch who’s doing what he has always wanted to do in life.”I couldn’t but prod him to talk to me about his apprenticeship under P. C. Sreeram. He admits that the association helped him, but he’s also eager to credit the time he spent as a child in his father’s photo lab. “This gave me a lot of insight into film processing and its various techniques.”

Arvind was also complimentary of my ultra-wide portraits. So, I decided to take one of him in action!
