Bangarda Kural , the latest Tulu film to hit the screens in Dakshina Kannada on Friday, is a pot boiler with a heady mix of romance, stunts, comedy, and sentiment. Veteran stunt master Ram Shetty has written the story and produced and directed it. It is the third film directed by him and 42 Tulu movie released.

The story revolves around three brothers in a family. The story develops after the younger brother Shivu (Shivadhwaj) falls in love and marries the daughter Ambika (Paki Hegde) of his school teacher. Shivu's two sisters-in-law hate him. Their jealously increases after his marriage and they begin to hate Ambika. Shivu's brother and sisters-in-law hatch a conspiracy and charge Shivu and his wife of stealing money from his elder brother. The money belongs to their wood factory.

Shivu's elder brother does not trust him. Disgusted, the hero leaves for Mumbai in search of a job leaving his wife behind at home. Shivu rescues a builder in Mumbai from attackers and in return the builder appoints him as a manager for his building projects. The builder's daughter falls in love with Shivu without knowing that he is married. The hero tells her the truth and finally the hero returns home with heavy earning on his hand. Back home, Ambika's co-sisters torture her. A villain attempts to rape Ambika at her arecanut plantation. For the God fearing Ambika, Almighty comes to the rescue in disguise and rescues her.

After Shivu returns from Mumbai, the couple moves to a new house where they arrange a function at a temple. Heavenly interventions prevent Ambika's co-sisters' plans to bring them bad name by mixing a poison with the prasada to be served at the function.

Arvind Bolar, who plays shopkeeper, provides adequate comic relief in what is billed as a family entertainer.
