Thiruthani

What it is about…

Baskar Cine Arts’ Thiruthani is produced by C. Bhaskar and directed by Perarasu who is also in charge of the story, screenplay, dialogue and lyrics. For the first time, Perarasu has handled music direction too. The cast comprises Bharath, Sunaina, Pandiarajan, Ashish Vidyarthi, M.S. Bhaskar, Chitti Babu and O.A.K. Sundar. Bala is the cameraman; GK, the art director; and Jaishankar, the editor. The audio of the film was released by director K. Bhagyaraj and received by director S. A. Chandrasekaran.

Music highlights

The soundtrack has five songs of which two are very melodious — ‘Nee Enakku’ sung by Karthik and Sainthavi and ‘Adi Vanaville’ sung by Unni Menon and Chinnmayi. ‘Emma Emma,’ sung by T. Rajender, Anuradha Sriram, and ‘Vannarapettai,’ sung by Tipu and Krishnaveni Perarasu, are ‘kuthu’ numbers, which are sure to go down well with the frontbenchers. ‘Vanavedikka Vedida,’ which Tipu has sung with fervour, comes first in the album. For a first-timer, director Perarasu’s music compositions are good. What they say…

Producer C. Bhaskar: I have worked as an associate of director Durai and others on nearly 35 films. It’s been my dream to set up my own production company and I’ve realised it with this project. After several hardships, we’ve finished the film, but without compromising on quality. Now Thiruthani looks like a big-budget film and I must thank all those behind me, including director Perarasu and actor Bharath, who helped me sail through the hard times. The film has come out well. Director and music director Perarasu: This is my seventh movie as director and first as music director. I have directed actors such as Vijay ( Thirupachi, Sivakasi ), Ajith ( Thirupathi) , Vijayakanth ( Dharmapuri ), Arjun ( Thiruvannamalai) and Bharath ( Pazhani ). Out and out commercial, the film also carries a message — one must not only aim for a healthy body, but also a strong mind. When I decided to score the music for the film, I was keen to offer variety. The audio release has evoked a good response and I’ve found new friends through my music.

Actor Bharath:Thiruthani is a complete entertainer. One can expect to see a different Bharath in it. I play a gym trainer. The film, which is a blend of action, family sentiment and comedy, also lays emphasis on the responsibility of youngsters towards society. This is my second film with Perarasu with whom I share a good rapport. My next film is 555 with director Sasi.
