Music highlights:

The soundtrack comprises eight songs. While R. Thangavel has written two songs — ‘Ethanai Murai Othigai’ and ‘Ilesa Ilesa’ — the others have been written by the director. ‘Ethanai’ is sung well by Sam C.S. ‘Ilesa Ilesa,’ sung by Paijee, Swathee and Anand, is good. What they say…

Director Selvakumar: After my graduation, I wanted to enter cinema as I have been fascinated by it from childhood. I have made seven short films. This film is based on an incident that happened in my friend’s life. When I pitched the story to the producers, Akilan P. Saravanan, S.P.S. Thirupathi Rajan and T. Thirumalai, they liked it. After several rounds of discussion, the project went on floors. We have finished a major schedule in Pazhani, Coimbatore, Ooty and Munnar, and the second schedule is to start next month. In the meantime, we got the songs ready; hence we went ahead with the audio release.

Hero Aswin: I am the grandson of veteran comedian K.A. Thangavelu. Besides playing the hero in Ayul Regai Neeyadi , I am busy with a couple more films, Hai Da and Kadhal Kasakuthaiya . The story of Ayul… goes like this — I meet a girl and fall in love with her. She becomes my friend, philosopher and guide. How my life changes, thanks to her, is told in an interesting way.

Music director Jayaseelan: Though I did my post-graduation in bio-chemistry, all along my heart has been in music. So I shifted base to Chennai and scored the music for 60 short films and several jingles. At his instance, I sent a demo CD to director Selvakumar. He immediately called me up and narrated a situation over the phone. I sent him a couple of tunes which he liked. That’s how I came to be associated with this film. I am now getting good feedback from those who have heard the songs.
