They have been in the industry for quite a while charting their own course of success. Now, for the first time, Jiiva and Trisha will come together in director I. Ahmed's Endrendrum Punnagai. “It is difficult to slot the script into a particular genre. It will be an entertaining romantic musical with a liberal dose of humour, courtesy Santhanam. There is a lot of focus on father-son relationship and we have zeroed in on Nasser to play the father. Lisa Hayden is also being considered for a crucial role. The film has a very contemporary script and many of the scenes will be shot in New York and Seychelles,” says Ahmed whose last film was Vaamanan starring Priya Anand and Jai. Music for Endrendrum Punnagai is by Harris Jayaraj.

Action-packed

Director Aabavanan's next film is a heroine-oriented action film in which Sanam plays a Black Belt Kung Fu expert. “There is another actress who plays a Malkamb expert,” says Sanam. Basking in the glory of Ambuli 3D, she has just completed director Arasu's Kalaiventhan in which Kalabhavan Mani plays a pivotal role while she is paired with Ajay. “I play a city-bred college girl in this thriller. Meanwhile, I have just completed a Malayalam film, Cinema Company which is about a movie-making company. It is directed by Mamaz and I am paired with Dasil,” says Sanam.

Happy home

Neengatha Ennam, director MSS's first film, focuses on the respect and understanding between parents and children that shapes the character of a child. “I have also tried to weave in into the script the importance of a good man-woman relationship that makes a family a happy one,” says the director. The film starsyesteryear star Banuchander's son Jayant opposite Anjitha.

A bag full

She played the second lead in Renigunta, did a special guest appearance in Ko and had solo song sequences in Mayanginen Thayanginen and Marupadiyum Oru Kaathal, and now, Mumbai-based model and actor Sanjana Singh awaits the release of Yaarukku Theriyum. “My award-winning performance in Renigunta has fetched me interesting and varied roles in Tamil films. Now I am confident enough to do lead roles and meaningful cinema with powerful characters to prove my talent,” says Sanjana. Yaaraukku Theriyum is a thriller, directed by Ganesan Kamaraj. In director Adhyaman's tentatively titled film Thappu Thaalangal she has been cast in the lead role.

The romantic angle

Anoop has three films under his belt — as the second hero along with Arya in Vattaram and Chikku Bukku and the lead role in Kathi Kappal. And he is now looking forward to the release of director Kamal's Marumugam. The film also stars Daniel Balaji. Ranya is the heroine. “I want to do all kinds of roles, including action. In Marumugam, I play a romantic hero, which will be totally different from my earlier films,” says Anoop.
