After giving several hits like “Andaz Apna Apna”, “Ghayal” and “Damini”, director Rajkumar Santoshi has come up with a romantic comedy, “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani”, where Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor have come together for the first time.
He says it is not just another comedy but a love story with a pinch of humour. Justifying the title of the movie, Santoshi says, “Ranbir is doing the role of an ajab lover boy in the movie, who falls for Katrina resulting in a lot of ghazab incidents. It is nowhere similar to Andaz Apna Apna as the treatment of the movie is humorous and not the movie itself. Essentially it is a love story depicting many emotions.”
Katrina feels the level of performance Santoshi extracts from his actors is immense. She is excited as the audience will get to see her in a whole new avatar in this movie, which is apparently different from all the roles she has done so far. The actors make a great couple on screen and have thoroughly enjoyed working with each other. Ranbir starts with the clichéd, “She is very hardworking and friendly, lovely to work with.” Then with a naughty gesture, he remarks, “Katrina is not a bully. It’s her success that is to be blamed!”
On the rumours that the two are going steady off screen as well, Ranbir says, “It is an awkward situation both for the actors and their families when they are linked with their co-actors just because they share good chemistry on screen. It feels stupid to read stuff like that about yourself.”
Katrina is not too much concerned. “I think it is a part and parcel of the industry. I am grateful to have worked with some great filmmakers. I laugh and enjoy working. In the end it is my work that I take home.”
