After making his debut as an actor in his film, ‘Bharya Onnu Makkal Moonnu’, director Rajasenan is back with ‘Oru Small Family’. Directed by Rajasenan himself, ‘Oru Small Family’ narrates how liquor can wreak havoc in peoples' lives.

Rajasenan has an important role in the film, which has Kailash and Ananya in the lead. Says Rajasenan, who has written the story and screenplay of ‘Oru Small Family,' about his character in the movie: “Viswanathan, a sub registrar, is an idealist. He is against liquor and is annoyed that there is a retail liquor outlet close to his house.”

The shooting of the film is going on at various locations near Chalakudy.

Spirited encounters

“The story focusses on two families. The first family has become rich through the selling of hooch while the other family is led by Viswanathan. While Kishore (Kailash), a college student belongs to the family that deals in illicit liquor, Ammu (Ananya) plays Viswanathan's daughter. Things take an interesting twist when Kishore and Ammu, who are both in the same college, fall in love. The story has doses of humour in it,” says Rajasenan.

His directorial ventures include hits such as ‘Melepparambil Aanveedu,' ‘Aniyan Bava Chettan Bava,' ‘Adyathe Kanmani' and ‘Madhuchandralekha.'

The scene for the day is inside Kishore's house, where the young man is in a heated argument with his girlfriend, Ammu. “His uncles have brought her here forcibly, in an attempt to help the couple. However, Kishore insists she be sent home,” explains the director.

Kailash, who shot to fame with ‘Neelathamara,' has recently worked with Ananya in ‘Shikar.' Says Kailash about his character: “My character's family business turns out to be an issue when he falls in love with Ammu.”

‘Oru Small Family' is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. The cast includes Suraj Venjarammoodu, Bheeman Raghu, KPAC Lalitha and Seetha. Cinematographer is Jibu Jacob. Lyrics by Rajeev Alumkal and Anil Panachooran have been set to music by M. Jayachandran. Still photographer is Soorya Peter.
