Viday Balan often gets interesting scripts from South Indian filmmakers but has not been able to do them due to schedule conflicts. The actress, however, is hopeful that in the future, she will be able try a South Indian film.
The 36—year old, who carved a niche for herself in Hindi filmdom with her performances in ‘Parineeta’, ‘Paa’, ‘Ishqiya’ and ‘Kahaani’, is keen to expand her horizons as an actor.
“I keep getting offers form Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi and Bengali filmmakers. I have been excited some of the scripts, but the dates haven’t matched yet,” Balan told IANS .
“Some scripts I have really liked but because of time, I have not been able to do them. Hopefully, sometime in future, I will do an interesting film in any one of the languages,” she added.
Currently seen as a detective in ‘Bobby Jasoos’, the actress is happy that women-centric films are doing well at the box office.
“It’s fantastic if a good film works — you feel good. It’s not about every women-centric film working, but a good film will always work. It’s not that easy for women-centric films to get good openings, so when it works it’s a huge thing,” Balan said.
