SC notice to Rajnikanth's wife

Bengaluru police have registered a case of forgery and cheating against Latha Rajnikanth.

The Supreme Court on Friday sought a response from South India's matinee idol Rajnikanth’s wife Latha Rajnikanth in connection with the case of alleged cheating with a post-production unit involved with Tamil movie ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ .

A bench led by Justice Ranjan Gogoi was hearing a petition filed by a private firm challenging a Karnataka High Court order of March 2016 quashing an FIR lodged against her by the Bengaluru Police.

Bengaluru police have registered a case of forgery and cheating against Latha Rajnikanth following the directions from the jurisidctional ACMM court.

The firm had alleged that after they financed for completion of the film, Latha Rajnikanth who stood as a guarantor, sold the distribution rights of the film to another firm for Tamil Nadu area, while the private firm was promised a distribution agreement in return for their funding
