Shabana Azmi joins British mini-series ‘Capital’

The five times National Award winning actor, who is currently in London shooting for the show, announced the news on twitter.

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi has joined the stellar cast of BBC One mini-series “Capital” , which is an adaptation of John Lanchester’s critically acclaimed and bestselling novel of the same name.

Toby Jones, Lesley Sharp, Wunmi Mosaku, Adeel Akhtar, Rachael Stirling, Gemma Jones, Robert Emms, Bryan Dick and Radoslaw Kaim also star in TV drama. It is being directed by Euros Lyn, whose credit includes “Last Tango in Halifax” and “Happy Valley” .

Azmi, 64, who is currently in London shooting for the show, announced the news on twitter.

“Here is what I am filming in London for. Toby Jones, Emma Jones, Adeel Akhtar all BAFTA nominees. Euros Lynn directs,” the actress posted alongside a link of the details of the new drama.

Set on a single street in South London, “Capital” is a portrait of a road transformed by soaring property prices.
