Reacting strongly to media reports that Rajinikanth may star in a biopic on Tipu Sultan, Hindu Munani leader Rama Gopalan has urged the superstar to desist from doing so.

According to Gopalan, Tipu was ‘anti-Tamil’ and hence no Tamil actors including Rajinikanth should star in the film.

Bengaluru-based entrepreneur-producer Ashok Kheny reportedly wants to make a biopic on Tipu Sultan with the 64-year-old southern superstar.

In his statement, Gopalan said that the film will be an attempt to portray Tipu Sultan as a freedom fighter.
