Sometimes when we’ve had a tough week where nothing seems to go right, a good party is what gets the happy hormones going. Enter Mansion House, a national movement that aims to bring party people together in a safe and exciting space brimming with fun beats from musicians from different corners of the country and the world.

“We’re offering a refreshing change from their usual night out,” the team at Mansion House explains, “We’ve got an experienced mixologist travelling with us to every city. People can choose from the three classic cocktails we’ve selected or tell Irfan what they feel like and he’ll make something just for them. The music isn’t the usual strain of popular music that’s played everywhere. We want to celebrate uniqueness and character.”

I am motivated to really push the envelope and keep surpassing the crowd’s expectations. It’ll be my first set with Jon Rust so I’m looking forward to that - Kohra

London-based DJ Jon Rust whose tunes are evocative of South London neighbourhoods, is amped up for his first visit to Hyderabad and India, “India’s history and culture is immense, full of so many contrasts. I’m only over for a short time, but I’m looking to soak up whatever I can. Travelling to share music is a privilege, I am aware. It might be my first trip to India — I’m hoping it’s not the last.”

Jon’s own musical repertoire speaks volumes, be it accompanying Jamie XX on his European Colours tour or a resident DJ at NTS Radio. When asking what he hopes for Hyderabadis to take away from he show, he jokes,

“Aside from sore feet from dancing? I’d like to think a broader mind… a club night can be a transformative experience.” We suppose that’s why many dub him “a real DJ’s DJ.”

Another act the city can look forward to is Madhav Jhorey aka Kohra, which translates to ‘fog’ or ‘mist’ in Urdu. Since his entry into music at the age of 16, the futuristic techno DJ is ready to spin audiences into a mystical high. His resumé boasts an impressive venue list including Electric Daisy Carnival and Puma’s Run The Streets showcase.

He looks forward to Mansion House in Hyderabad, explaining, “The city is so open-minded and encouraging. I am motivated to really push the envelope and keep surpassing the crowd’s expectations. It’ll be my first set with Jon Rust so I’m looking forward to that.”

Rishi aka Midnight Traffic will be spitting out some addictive deep house too. Since his breakout in 2004, Midnight Traffic has had an intimate musical rapport with the city with regular sets with Corona Sunsets.

Mansion House Party with Jon Rust, Kohra and Midnight Traffic will be taking place at Tabula Rasa on Saturday November 25 at 9pm onwards. For more information, call 9910238855.
