‘Ocean's 8’: These boots are made for crowd pleasing
The unambitious, templated and safe approach taken by the film’s male director, Gary Ross, is salvaged by its women. Although none of them manage to shine through (barring Anne Hathaway as a vacuous celebrity), their camaraderie evokes ample laughter.
‘Incredibles 2’: Baby’s day out
The film is also thoughtful in its own way. Though set in 1960s it’s got something eminently contemporray about it. Be it the portrayal of adolescent angst, the theme of domesticity and parental role-playing or that of bridging the gender divides.

‘Tik Tik Tik’ review: a simplistic space flick
It’s easier to appreciate Tik Tik Tik when you start seeing it as a film that’s meant to be the typical Tamil mass film, which just happened to be set in outer space. 'Andhra Mess' review: Where’s the spice?
Director Jai’s Andhra Mess keeps reminding you of Jil Jung Juk in terms of scene lighting and writing. The characters try their best to be evil-but-comical but the comedy setup falls flat. The jokes are largely juvenile — lines like ‘ Gun kuduthiye, bun kuduthiya? ’ are among the ‘jokes’ that are on offer.
