‘Padman’ trailer: changing the world one sanitary napkin at a time

December 17, 2017 03:09 pm | Updated 03:12 pm IST

“America has Batman, Superman... Spiderman,” goes the opening lines of the trailer for Akshay Kumar’s next film. “India has Padman,” finishes the narrator.

And rightly so.

Based on the life of entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham , Padman is the story of how one man came up with a revolutionary method of producing cost-effective sanitary napkins, and empowered thousands of women across the country in the process.

Also starring Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor, the film is scheduled for release on January 26, 2018.
