A TV spot with new footage from the much-awaited Avengers: Infinity War and an updated release date, titled 'The End is Near' was released on Monday.

The 30-second spot gives us glimpses of all the Avengers, scattered in various parts of the universe (Hi Thor!). There are also new shots of the Black Widow in action in Wakanda, Thanos dropping by Earth, Iron Man furiously swinging by Doctor Strange and best of all, baby Groot. Or is it teenaged Groot by now?

The teaser gives another glimpse of the battle in Wakanda, one that has been hyped as the last stand of the Avengers before Thanos.

The teaser also has the new release date for the film — April 27. The film was originally scheduled for release on May 4.

The movie, a long time in the making, comes 10 years after the Marvel Cinematic Universe first kicked off things with Downey's Iron Man in 2008. Since then, there have been a whopping 18 films in the MCU. Infinity War will be the 19th.

The film will chronicle the efforts of the Avengers to stop Thanos the Mad Titan, who comes to Earth in search of the six Infinity stones.

The Space Stone is the Tessaract which made its appearance first in Captain America: The First Avenger and is currently in possession of Loki, who stole it from the Asgardian vault in Thor: Ragnarok .

The Reality Stone is the Aether, which appeared in Thor: The Dark World and was entrusted to The Collector. The Time Stone is the Eye of Agamotto, safely guarded by Doctor Strange. The Power Stone is the orb, which was central to the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy . The stone is currently in possession of the Nova Corps.

The Mind Stone, which was encased in Loki's sceptre, gave life to Vision and the whereabouts of the Soul Stone are currently unknown. According to the trailer, Thanos manages to get his hands on two — the Power Stone and the Space Stone, and is on his way to getting the Soul Stone from Vision. Will he get all of them? We might probably have to wait for Infinity War-Part 2, planned for May 2019, to find out.

Avengers: Infinity War features an ensemble cast of Robert Downey Jr, Josh Brolin, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L Jackson, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Don Cheadle, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston.
