June 7 will witness a battle like no other in the Indian box office. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will take on Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kaala across the country. The former, a sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World , will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, apart from the original English release.

The film takes off four years since the destruction of the theme park at Isla Nublar, leaving the existing dinosaurs to fend for themselves. The leads, Owen and Claire, return to the island to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that’s about to erupt.

In the process, the duo encounters terrifying new breeds of dinosaurs, while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the planet.

Chris Pratt will reprise his role as Owen Grady, a raptor expert and Navy Veteran along with Bryce Dallas Howard who plays Claire Dearing, the Jurassic World operations manager.

The makers have already announced a third part, which is expected to release in 2021. When added along with the first trilogy that released in 1993, the 2021 film would become the sixth in the series that was based on Michael Crichton’s 1990 book Jurassic Park .

As of 2000, the original franchise had generated $5 billion in revenue, making it one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time. Jurassic World is currently the fifth-highest grossing film of all time.
